    About the Artist

Dave Schubert is a world class San Francisco photographer working primarily in film. The photographs of Dave offer a glimpse into the artist’s lifestyle of graffiti and youthful anarchy. Documenting a generation of San Francisco artists who have become an important part of Graffiti, as well as art History. Photographs of the Golden Era of San Francisco Graffiti, where artists like Barry Mcgee and Margaret Kilgallen initiated a whole new genre of artists such as the Mission School. One of Dave’s photos also has been an icon for the documentary the Beautiful losers, a tagged white van representing todays current generation of artists. There are important moments captured intimately by Dave always being able to tell a honest and direct story with his camera. Through this history the artist has grown also into documenting the streets of San Francisco with his more recent work. Darker images appear as he captures the transient nature of those living in and for the street.
